We just deployed another minor update to the member portal, specifically around the purchase process (which is US-specific), and around pushing data to legacy systems (like the approvals database).
From here forward, when you renew your membership, or update your profile information, changes to your name and expiration date should be reflected in the CRD, approvals database, and ordeals system. This should also cut down on issues where members get added to the system (such as by purchasing a new membership) and don’t show up properly in the legacy systems. This is not retroactive, so changes made prior to today will still not be reflected for now (at least until we design a manual push system), but you can always go into your profile and edit something just to force a refresh.
For US members, you should now get an email receipt when you purchase or renew a membership. This should make it a little easier to demonstrate to your coordinator that you’re eligible for early renewal prestige, though we may have some even better mechanisms for that in the near future.
Also, new members paying by e-check should be assigned a trial membership immediately (so you get a Cam number right away), even though your e-check will still take a couple weeks to clear through the system (your membership gets upgraded to full after your e-check finishes processing).
Of course, work continues on upgrading the system to recognize org units, officers, and set up permissions properly, but as noted a few times before, that’s a major project and will take a while to complete. In the meantime, other coders on the team can continue bringing you minor upgrades like this, with the hope of continuing our 6-8 week release cycle.
